Activities and Events

There's always something going on at Rhett Avenue Christian Church.  We have Sunday School at 10, Traditional Worship at 11, Bible Study and Youth Group at 6, or come to our Tuesday Bible Study at 4.  We also have a Prayer and Meditation Group and conduct a Contemporary Worship service from time to time, most often on the last Sunday of each month at 6.  We have special seasonal services, such as the Hanging of the Greens at the beginning of Advent in December, a Christmas Eve service, and a special service on Maundy Thursday, the Thursday prior to Easter.  Check out these or our other activities, our Monthly Newsletter, and our Weekly Bulletin, or call for details.

Although the schedule changes based upon other events, we also have Dutch Treat Dinners, usually monthly on a Monday or Thursday evening.  On special occasions we do a Covered Dish Dinner at the Church - it's a treat you don't want to miss!

Throughout the year are other special events, like our Spring Fling, usually held on a Saturday in April, and our Fall Festival, just before Halloween. There's something for everyone, with recent offerings including a jump castle, pony rides, face painting, and carnival booths with games and prizes, free for the kids, plant sales, rummage sales, bingo, and silent auctions for the adults, and hot dogs, drinks, snacks and a bake sale for all.  It's a great way to spend the day.

During the Christmas season you can join us as we decorate a tree at the City's Christmas Festival of Lights, which is held each year from just after Thanksgiving until New Year's Day.  Of course, with the Christmas season comes hot chocolate, cookies and caroling, usually after our Hanging of the Greens Service.  Come on out and have a great time with us!

We're in the process of exploring a Wedding Ministry as a special calling of our Church and, as part of that effort, we've initiated a new tradition, a Wedding Vow Renewal Service.  The first one was held on the Sunday before Valentines Day this year.  It was a great success and we plan to make it an annual event.

Finally, this year we are celebrating our 50th Anniversary with a year long Jubilee Celebration.
